Project Needlemouse = Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1

After a little bit of teasing, SEGA has finally pulled back the curtain on their Project Needlemouse videogame. This morning on Gamespot, it was revealed that the game will be (to the surprise of a few) Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Episode 1, a brand-new 2D-style game with 3D visuals. It’ll be similar in nature to the original three games from the early 1990s, and it will be a downloaded game, along with its subsequent episodes. Let’s just hope it’s not as slow as Half-Life episodes. Online leaderboards will be placed for fastest times, and motion control will be included for the Wii and PS3 versions. The game lands on all the major video game consoles’ online marketplaces this summer. The accompanied trailer can be viewed here.

The Busy, Busy Day

This was going to be a Facebook status, but it was much too long, so I’m putting it here.

My day: Got up at 5:30AM, got dressed, ate breakfast, had my mom drive me to the test center because my dad didn’t want to give up his carpooling to let me drive, took my GRE (530 verbal, 740 quantitative [unofficial] for the curious), had mom pick me up and, oddly enough, went to IHoP for breakfast, went home to pick up a few items to have my mom renew her passport, went to a photo center across town, found out they didn’t do passport, had to go back to the other side of town to the Walgreens to have picture taken there, went to City Hall, had umbrella destroyed by wind, was directed to the courthouse, read sign stating we needed to pay by check, went to bank to deposit money, went back home in torrential rain, picked up checkbook, went back, found out they don’t do renewals, so we had to do it by mail, went to post office across the street, tried to convince mom that she didn’t need to pay extra for overnight shipping when priority would be good enough (didn’t work), filled out everything, packaged, shipped, paid, returned home, found FedEx had stopped by to drop unserviced iPod (wasn’t there so try again tomorrow), and am now to by school books. And it’s not even 3:00PM!!!

On the bright side, I also received my copy of the 33rd volume of Case Closed (which will be read in about an hour, followed by a two-month wait for the next volume), as well as Case Closed: Countdown to Heaven (is happy with copious amounts of Vi pictures LOL).

Case Closed: The Phantom of Baker Street Trailer Posted

Case Closed: The Phantom of Baker Street

The official Case Closed website has been updated with a countdown to the release of the fifth movie in the series, Countdown to Heaven, scheduled to be out on DVD January 19, 2010. Along with it, a trailer for it and The Phantom of Baker Street have been posted.

Conan’s latest case finds him trapped in a virtual recreation of 19th century London and pitted against none other than Jack the Ripper! To save his friends, Conan must follow in the footsteps of his hero – Sherlock Holmes – and crack a case that’s gone unsolved for over a hundred years.
Catching the most notorious serial killer of all times is their only chance of survival, but Conan will have to be smarter than Sherlock to apprehend the Phantom of Baker Street!

Case Closed: The Phantom of Baker Street is scheduled to go on sale February 16, 2010.

Construction Ahead

Pardon the mess that is the blog. I’m trying to put together a new look for it, and I’m not exactly skilled in this, so it’ll look messy for a while. Hopefully, I can have it done early into the new year, and afterwards post some lists I had in mind.

Detective Conan Movie 14 Promotional Posters Leaked

The upcoming issue of Shonen Sunday has been leaked to show two posters pertaining to the upcoming Detective Conan, which will be named Tenkuu no Lost Ship (The Lost Ship in the Sky). This will mark the return of Kaitou Kid to the big screen in a few years. Gosho Aoyoma’s promotional art seems to suggest that Ran will confuse Kid for Shinichi (as speculated by a friend). The other poster contains a few images from the movie, with the armed group on the right and the shot of Ai being slapped on the left catching my eye the most. We’ll see if it’s any good. The movie will be released on April 17, 2010. Check out the posters after the jump.

New Super Mario Brothers Wii – Impressions

Photobucket

Well, I thought that my brother agreed to get this game for my birthday, so I decided it would be more convenient for me to get it and him to pay me the money when I go back in a couple of days. Turns out he is unable to pay me due to my mom being laid off of work at the moment. So now I’m $90 down (also got New Super Mario Brothers for Nintendo DS), but I have two great platformers with me. Since I don’t have my Wii as school, I thought I would have to wait until then to try it, but my friends and I left the ball early last night, so I decided to bring the game over to play on their Wii.

I decided to play with a friend who has video game experience but not so much Mario platformers (although she does have Super Mario Brothers for the Virtual Console. So we fired up New Super Mario Brothers Wii and set off for a little two-player romp through the Mushroom Kingdom. The outcome?

Case Closed: Countdown to Heaven to Be Released January 19, 2010 [UPDATE: The Phantom of Baker Street on February 16, 2010]

Photobucket

UPDATE: Apparently, there is a release date for the sixth movie that I had missed. Thanks, GinRei of DCTP!

Hooray! Let’s celebrate a momentary return with big enough news to continue with my procrastination of studying for this exam! According to an Amazon listing, the fifth movie in the Case Closed series, a Countdown to Heaven, will be out on DVD January 19, 2010, just a little under a month after the release of the two previous movies. The story, according to the listing, is as follows.

As the grand opening of a pair of towers nears, death and mayhem mars the fresh start to the architectural marvels. Conan, suspecting that the mysterious Black Organization that poisoned and left him for dead of being involved, goes to investigate, but soon finds himself in harm’s way, trapped, as the buildings are set to blow.

The sixth movie, The Phantom of Baker Street, still has no known release date will be released on February 16, 2010. However, that doesn’t stop me from declaring that this will be the best intersession ever!

New Trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

A new trailer for Link’s next adventure on the Nintendo DS, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, has been released. This trailer shows more gameplay and cutscenes about the story in the game, but the major focus of the trailer is who Link has accompany him on his journey. See the trailer first below, followed by my thoughts.
